Abstract

Diabetes melitus akibat gangguan pada produksi insulin, retensi insulin, atau kombinasi kedua kondisi ini. Di Indonesia, diabetes melitus menjadi masalah kesehatan utama yang memerlukan perhatian khusus dan menjadi prioritas penanganan penyakit tidak menular yang jumlah kasusnya meningkat setiap tahun. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan emotional intelligence, kepatuhan pengobatan, dan quality of life. Jenis penelitian cross-sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebesar 103 responden yang diambil berdasarkan kriteria inklusi penelitian dan dihitung dengan aplikasi program G*Power. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Alat ukur untuk menilai kecerdasan emosional menggunakan kuesioner Emotional Competence Inventory 2.0 (ECI), untuk menilai kepatuhan pengobatan dengan kuesioner MGL-MAQ dan kualitas hidup dengan kuesioner Short Form 6 Dimensions (SF-6D). Perangkat lunak software SPSS digunakan untuk menganalisis data, dengan uji statistik chi-square. Hasil analisis tabulasi silang menunjukkan bahwa emotional intelligence tinggi terhadap quality of life baik adalah 30,4%, dan kepatuhan pengobatan yang patuh terhadap quality of life baik adalah 68%. Hasil analisis diperoleh nilai p-value = 0.001. Kesimpulan: terdapat hubungan signifikan antara variabel emotional intelligence dan kepatuhan pengobatan dengan kualitas hidup pasien diabetes melitus. Diharapkan emotional intelligence dan kepatuhan pengobatan yang tinggi pada pasien diabetes dapat menjadi salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien sehingga diharapkan jangka panjang dapat mencegah timbulnya komplikasi lanjut akibat penyakit diabetes.
